Interactive displays of old horse-drawn carriages, fire engines & delivery trucks, plus a gift shop.
Huge place and range of vehicles, all in immaculate condition. Some you can climb in or on. Very good restaurant, small shop and kids area. Pleasant helpful staff. Really glad I went. NB - small mobility scooter could access all areas. Good size free car park.
We visited the museum on a guided tour, with a group from Southport u3a. The museum has a fantastic collection of commercial vehicles across the ages, from horse drawn onwards. The volunteers are really knowledgeable and happy/able to answer pretty much any question you throw at them. The museum has a cafe and the staff there are also incredibly friendly and helpful. There is a good choice and the food was excellent. Definitely a good place to spend several hours and fill your stomach during your visit.
A great place to visit. Vehicles of old all the way up to modern era looking vehicles. Some vehicles are open to go on and look in, others ypu need to ask. The staff are so welcoming, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. If you want to know the history of anything just ask. The cafe is amazing, the food was spot on, I got a sausage roll and the meat inside! It was more sausage than pastry, which is how it should be! On the way out there is a little gift shop as well. It was PS10 per adult to enter, which for what they have is spot on! Great value for money!
Had a great time. Visited whilst attending the Fishwick & Ribble running day. Some great exhibits, a lot of vehicles from local firms; which is good to see. Loved the Scampi Fries mini vehicle, if I could have got it under my jumper and walked out with it, I would have lol. There is an area to entertain the young uns. Information on each exhibit. Knowledge staff, was told that evey vehicle is a running vehicle. Rick gave me a fascinating talk about one of the buses, tragic story but entertaining non the less. There is a cafe inside. Obviously I had to try a butter pie, it would be rude not to . WOW! Really tasty, and was packed filling wise. Cost PS4, which some may think was a bit steep, but it was a good sized pie. If I were to have one criticism, it would be that they don't have any plastic cutlery if you get a take out. Would recommend anyone into these type of vehicles to pay a visit. PS10 I think was a reasonable price to pay
Inexpensive, lots of trucks on display, including steam powered, and there are several vehicles that children or adults can climb onboard. Staff are pleasant and helpful. Cafe is good too. All the vehicles are in immaculate condition.
It's a small museum, expected to spend here about 45 minutes, definitely no more than an hour. But it's about quality rather than quantity. I even enjoyed it more than the Manchester bus museum. In Leyland, expect to see buses, trucks, even a pope mobile. You can enter some vehicles. Most of them are diverse and different, so it's not like you will be see a variation of a single vehicle. I had that feeling in Manchester. Definitely recommended.
