A secluded bay surrounded by towering cliffs and lush greenery, with a small sandy beach and calm turquoise waters that are perfect for swimming and snorkeling.
The cove of two standing stones with a recumbent slab between them, which can be found in the garden of the Druid's Arms public house. All are of different heights, the stone to the north east being 4.4 metres (14 ft) the south western 3.1 metres (10 ft), and the north eastern 1.4 metres (4 ft 7 in). The stones of The Cove are mineralogically different from those in the nearby stone circles. A long barrow burial chamber has been found under the stones of The Cove. It is thought that this predates the erection of the stones by approximately a thousand years. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area.
If you like big stones you will love it here. If you are not into rocks stick with a pint in the pub.
Combine with a visit to Stanton Drew stone circles and you've got yourself a nicer little walk back through time. Pretty cool having this site in a pub beer garden
Great little place. The Cove is situated in the Druid Arms pub garden. You can access it for free without going to the pub, but surely the finest way to enjoy these megathiths must be with a pint!
