English tea room serving breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea in a wonky 16th-century timbered house.
Although we did not eat here, we had a great time taking pictures out front and in the back as it is such a unique house! The Crooked House of Windsor, also known as the Market Cross House, is a historic building located in Windsor, Berkshire, near Windsor Castle. It was originally built in 1592 but was reconstructed in 1718 after the original structure was demolished to make way for the Guildhall. The house is famous for its pronounced lean, giving it a distinctly crooked appearance. This tilt is due to the use of green, unseasoned oak in the reconstruction, which warped over time. The building has served various purposes over the centuries, including as a butcher's shop, a jewelry store, and a tea room. Today, the Crooked House of Windsor is a charming tourist attraction and a delightful piece of Windsor's history, reflecting the quaint and picturesque character of the town. Its unique architecture and historical significance make it a popular spot for visitors exploring the area.
Lovely staff and great atmosphere. Food was good, had the bacon sandwich and latte with a pastry. Really liked the %0 sparkling tea as well Also loved the music playing! Definitely recommend. Steeps steps up to the seating upstairs and toilets so bare that in mind for the less able bodied
It's a lovely and special place, If you visit Windsor alone or as a couple, you should enjoy it
Great place for a quick coffee and croissant and homemade rhubarb jelly before heading to Windsor Castle.
Absolutely delicious cakes and coffee! Really loved the crockery too! Friendly service! We'll definitely be back!
We almost missed this architectural gem because it's a Bottle-shop also serving tea and coffee. It hasn't been a tea-shop for 9 years (Google hasn't updated it ). It sells British products, dried flowers etc. A few seats downstairs, more upstairs I had a pot of tea and my friend had coffee which she said was strong
