Overlooking the Humber Estuary, The Deep is an award-winning aquarium in Hull, and a conservation/education charity. Proud members of BIAZA and WAZA, with a mission to inspire positive change for ocean survival. The Deep is home to a vast array of incredible marine life, including sharks, turtles, penguins, stingrays, jellyfish, and the spectacular sawfish. Marvel at these beautiful animals swimming above you in our underwater tunnel, underneath the impressive 10-metre Endless Ocean exhibit. Enjoy a bite to eat at The Deep's onsite main cafe, open daily, or bring along a picnic and relax at Picnic Place. Stop off at The Halfway Cafe for snacks, open weekends and school holidays. Don't forget to visit The Deep-Artment store for unique gifts!
An absolute gem. First of all the work that this place does for sea life is incredible. At the end of our visit we went into the engineering room to see how the aquarium was maintained and I was amazed. There is so much work that goes into this, and more and more every day it seems. First of all the staff were extremely helpful. We have an electric car and needed help setting the charger up and the gentleman at the desk actually came out and helped us. There was no vegan food left at the cafe but no bother, I had chips instead. The actual aquarium was incredible. Highly informative from the first life on earth to now. The tunnel was the best part for me. I have never seen a shark before, and I actually teared up a little. Absolutely beautiful creatures. We have a 12 month pass and will definitely be back.
My 4 and 7 years old loved it so much! They have some workshops going for the kids as well, which was very informative and enjoyable for the kids. The cafe is big, but we packed our own picnic, I think towards the end we had some coffee from there.
I LOVE JELLYFISH!?! Me and my son visited recently, after carrying a heavy backpack around it was nice there's a halfway cafe! It was appreciated! The annual pass is a plus being local! And it's always a bonus when it keeps the little one entertained!
Brilliant aquarium! It was absolutely stunning and had a vast selection of fish and sea creatures to see. This aquarium is good for all ages and is hard not to love. The tickets are valid for a year and I will 100% be coming back to take it all in again. The jellyfish exhibits are fascinating and the staff are there to chat about the animals if you come at a quieter time.
Great few hrs to spend with the kids. If you're local/not too far from Hull, it's great value for money as well, as the ticket is also an annual pass. Would recommend.
