The garden is intimate, informal and inspiring. Located in the woodland quarter of Staffordshire close to both the Shropshire and the Cheshire borders, this lovely garden has delights and surprises whatever the season. There are many areas of diverse interest within this 12 acre, hillside garden. These include a new winter garden, an edible woodland, a woodland quarry with waterfall, an alpine scree and pool, rose walk and amazing seasonal borders. Additionally the garden has several notable collections of plants including: rhododendrons, azaleas, camellias, sarcococca and hydrangeas.
A beautiful and relaxing garden filled with several areas--winterland, quarry, and open, rolling hills with planted borders. A lovely time exploring and visiting the other nurseries selling various plants! The cheese scones in the tea shop were wonderful, though service was a bit slow.
Well worth a visit and entrance fee if great value for money considering the work that is put into the gardens. Was amazed by the variety of plants. Glass house had some great plant specimens. Some great looking acers too! Only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 was down to the cafe. Drinks selection was lacking when it came to coffee and prices were steep for what you were getting. Although appreciate it will be helping to fund the place.
Lovely garden to visit, great for kids to blow off some steam. Yummy cakes and coffee. Dogs welcome, sheltered area outside, too. They have a fairy treasure hunt, find all 12, and be entered into a 12 month membership prize draw
One of my favorite gardens. As a small Easter trip, we returned here after almost two years. The garden looks beautiful in spring. On site, we found a beautifully developed cafe where you can not only drink coffee or tea, but also eat something tasty and nutritious for lunch.
Very good garden with lots of trails that are sympathetically designed with lots of trees, bushes, and flowers. There's a gift shop, cafe, tea room, toilets, lots of parking. Entrance fees are low as is the membership fee. They often host events such as plant fairs but for these you should arrive early, sometimes you have to park on the grass and depending on the weather you may need a real 4x4 to leave due to how soft the earth is. It's also very dog friendly.
Beautiful, the Laburnum arch was magnificent, watching all the bees on the blooms was fabulous, they have their own apiary. The GF cake was lovely & sticky. I bought some lovely items in the gift shop. Very enjoyable morning
