A former marl pit that became a duck pond for Wright's Pit Farm. The farm's land was sold off for housing and, eventually, the farm buildings were demolished and the flats of Mere Park were built in 1962. Please remember not to heed the signs and not feed the ducks bread.
It's just a small pond where you can feed the ducks from the pavemnet through the railings but it's enjoyable and the ducks are usually there. We also spotted some terrapins there.
Beautifully tranquil idyll definitely worth a venture if in the area. A firm favourite for young families and nature lovers.
My parents moved there 11 month's ago. Best move they have made love it there......
Beautiful little piece of nature. Don't feed the ducks.
description is correct there are ducks very nice
It was ok but it was rather dreary!
Good for kids
