This lovely, timeless garden designed in the 17th century has a wonderful sense of peace and tranquillity with magnificent long mixed borders, a topiary yew walk and grass steps designed by Lutyens, as well as stunning views over the Golden Valley. After exploring the garden, a recent winner of Historic Houses Garden of the Year, enjoy a drink, slice of cake or hot food from the catering wagon, visit the nursery or venture on one of the walks around the estate.
This our second visit to Miserden and they are just fabulous gardens. This time there was a sculpture exhibition on which elevated the gardens to a whole new level. The views are wonderful and the gardens surprisingly extensive, with woodland walks as well as the formal areas. On our visit there was a great little cafe as well as plenty of seating so that added to the experience too and gave us a chance to sit down and relax before we explored the gardens. Our entry was free, as Historic Houses members but I think it's only PS10 for a paying adult anyway.
The PS12 admission price per adult is a bit steep for the size of the gardens and what you get to see, so it's not good value for money in my mind. Would recommend walking to visit the lake, though
Beautiful gardens, very quiet at the time of our visit, which was lovely, also sculpture exhibits around the gardens which added interest, not sure if this is normal but we really liked it.
Beautiful gardens, but might be a good idea to mention the cafe is close before people get there. The village is incredibly picturesque with lots of walking routes.
Lovely garden, beautifully looked after. Great coffee and cake from the pop up cafe. Enjoyed the sculpture exhibition on at the moment.
Brilliant !! Searched a garden to visit whilst holidaying in the area . Wonderful colourfull and well maintained flower borders in a peaceful and relaxing lawned area. Many majestic and varied trees plus interesting buildings/ornamental features. There is a high quality refreshment facility, good car parking and toilets. The house is not open to the public, One of the nicest gardens we've visited, a real credit to the small gardening team.
