This ancient coaching inn, dating back to the 13th century, boasts a rich history and stunning architecture. Its half-timbered facade, adorned with wooden beams and white plaster, exudes a warm, rustic charm. The inn's interior features exposed beams, flagstone floors, and roaring log fires, creating a cozy atmosphere perfect for relaxing with a pint of real ale or enjoying a hearty meal.
Lovely friendly staff, large garden. Roast was a delight- particularly the pork belly. The cabbage came in a slice, like a cake with caraway seeds- impressive in both taste and appearance. Unique vegetarian options.
Had a great meal at the George inn after a walk with our group . Landlord Michael and his wife ( I believe) offered a pleasant service. Prices are not the cheapest but the food was excellent. The chef truly knows his stuff . Had the venison and it was excellent.
Went for a meal last Wednesday evening, Michael was very welcoming and friendly. We had drinks by a cosy log fire followed by a delicious meal very impressed.
Why is still coming up on Google when it's closed down. See street view its derelict

Beautiful pub with very attentive and friendly staff, who really took care of us. Having walked there, the wild bore and 4 bird pies were also the best thing ever
