A historic distillery nestled in the heart of Scotland's Speyside region, where the River Livet flows gently through the valley. The Glenlivet Distillery is a masterpiece of traditional craftsmanship, where time-honored techniques and recipes are used to create some of the world's finest single malt Scotch whiskies.
I had the pleasure of visiting the Glenlivet Distillery and it was an incredible experience from start to finish! The distillery itself is beautifully set in the heart of Speyside, offering breathtaking views of the Scottish Highlands, which perfectly complements the rich heritage and legacy of Glenlivet whisky. Our tour was led by Hanna, who truly made the visit unforgettable. She was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about Glenlivet's history and production process. Hanna's enthusiasm was infectious, and she answered all of our questions with such detail and care. She really took the time to ensure everyone on the tour understood the intricate steps involved in crafting their famous Scotch, from the malting and mashing to the aging and bottling processes. It was clear she takes pride in her work, and her dedication added so much value to the experience. Hopefully next time we see her in a few years she will be a part of the production team. We had the opportunity to sample a few of their exclusive whiskies, and each one was exceptional--smooth, rich, and perfectly crafted. Glenlivet truly lives up to its reputation as one of the best Scotch distilleries in the world. For anyone looking to visit a Scotch distillery, I highly recommend Glenlivet. Whether you're a whisky aficionado or just looking to learn more about the production of Scotch, this is a must-visit destination. And if you're lucky enough to have Hanna as your guide, you're in for a real treat!
Very attractive presentation of the world-famous distillery. Nice layout. The tour guide is very informative, with whisky tasting at the end. There is an option of pouring your own bottle directly from a cask. It's worth paying a visit if around this area.
Walking into the Glenlivet Distillery feels a little like walking into a top end luxury hotel in that the entrance and design of the visitor centre is exquisite. A relaxing glow surrounds you as soon as you enter and the overall design is outstanding. There is easy accessible parking and the staff are also top class providing a friendly welcome and offering any help or advice needed. I've visited many distilleries and this one is up there with the best. Well worth a visit.
Beautiful property. Great tour. Our tour guide Spencer was fantastic and quite humorous. Wealth of knowledge about the history of the area and the Glenlivet legacy. Picked up a distillery-only bottle of 14 year commemorating their 200th year as a legitimate distillery. Only 1824 (year they were established) bottles were bottled of this particular one.
We had a brilliant tour with Sofia despite her having not been there long. She was very knowledgeable and factual whilst maintaining a sense of humour and friendliness and made us all feel very comfortable. She handled questions really well. We also have a family connection to the distillery so we were pointed in the right direction of someone who could tell us more. Nice experience tasting the whiskies in a beautiful room and great to get the opportunity for money off a purchase.
Such a luxurious distillery. Even driving up to it felt like a prestigious members only area. It is beautiful decorated and looks very fancy. We had our toddler with us so could not do a tour, but he enjoyed seeing the large distillery and the cat who lives there. We did not purchase anything in the end but we are happy we saw how magnificent it was.
