Delicious whisky since 1843. Come and visit our Highland world...where all taste is possible. Swirling with aroma and flavour, the Glenmorangie Distillery is the beating heart of our whisky making.
Such a distillery! I'm not a fan of whisky and it's 100% not my drink, but the taste of this one- super light, vanilla aroma and mild. I even finished my samples, and it's almost a never situation. We had a tour and Sam was very friendly, knows everything (or great pretender ). We've seen manufacturing and tried 3 types of whisky in the end. And the location is stunning.
Tours were unfortunately all full, apparently because of a cruise ship which just came in, so best to book in advance. But the grounds are open to visit, and the impressive stills and "lighthouse" can be seen from the outside. Shop is nicely themed, with tastings available and friendly staff.
Amazing tour -- informative and engaging. Zoe was an entertaining and lively tour guide. Tasting was fun as well. The lunch from Surf & Turf was delicious. We arrived a wee bit early, so we had a look around the grounds and went down to the shoreline behind the distillery -- very pretty. We visited in early May and booked a day or two in advance online. We noticed they were fully booked for the day when we arrived.
The 1 hour classic tour was great :) We got to see the impressive distillery and received a lot of interesting insights. The Whisky tasting consisted of 2 drams including the limited edition ,,A Tale of the Forest", so I assume the samples are not always the same. The booking process was a bit annoying, since none of our (valid) credit cards were excepted due to technical issues, so we had to phone. Also, there's no chance to try further whiskies after the the last tour (starting at 15:30), as the bar closes right after. Plus the Surf & Turf was closed for unknown reasons. Bit of a bummer, but the overall experience was good and we love their Whisky :-)
Lovely tour but kind of pointless that if they finish the tour at 4:30pm the bar also closes at the same time as the tour giving you no chance to try their finest whiskies... literally closed it in my face. Enjoyed the whole tour but this was just a spoiler, going back to Barcelona empty handed and very disappointed! Also the most beautiful part of the distillery and you can't take a picture there (The Giraffe Room: where the copper tanks are)
We've booked a tour but it was only us, who tuned up, so we've got a 'private tour' of the distillery! Zoe was great at explaining the history of the distillery and how it all works. Tasting was great and even for me (who's not a whisky person) finding one that I actually like was easy.
