Absolutely amazing place, I bought my kids the big kid passes which was amazing value allowing them to go on as many rides as they wanted. If your kids are "too old" to hang with their parents, there is a nice pub to sit and rest while they enjoy themselves. The arcade is big with lots of variety but I never saw any claw machines actually pay out. I honestly can't fault the grand pier and will definitely be returning.
Visiting the new Grand Pier in Weston-super-Mare is always a pleasant experience. It's a modern, vibrant attraction with plenty to do, especially for families with young children. The arcade games, rides, and indoor activities ensure there's something for everyone, rain or shine. The pier itself is well-maintained, and the views out to sea are just as stunning as ever. However, for me, it's hard not to feel a pang of nostalgia for the old pier that I grew up with. The old pier had a charm that can't quite be replaced. Perhaps it's the sentimental value or the memories of simpler times, but the new pier, as nice as it is, doesn't quite capture the magic of the original. It's a shame the old pier was lost to the fire, as it held a special place in the hearts of many who grew up visiting it. That said, the new Grand Pier is undeniably a great addition to Weston-super-Mare. It's clear a lot of thought and effort has gone into making it a top-notch attraction, and it's perfect for creating new memories with the next generation. While it may not hold the same nostalgic value for me, it's still a lovely place to visit, especially for families looking for a fun day out.
Had a blast here!! Went on a week day so it wasn't very busy. Easy to understand how it works, and the card is very useful and easy to use. You get it for 1PS ( refundable if you return it at the end ). You charge it with 10 or more pounds. Some games don't accept the card, so be prepared with some 1PS coins. The staff was prepared to help and were constantly walking around checking everything. At the end we had in hand tickets and two cards with tickets and the girl let us join everything together, (even wrote it on a paper so we wouldn't forget) making it easier to track what we could and couldn't get. The prizes you can get are amazing and it's fun for all ages.
A lovely retro walk with arcades and cafes. You have to pay PS1 per person to walk on the pier (cards accepted) - your call if that is worth it, but I will say there are free to use toilets whereas every other toilet on the promenade are 20p per person. I also noticed how spotlessly clean the pier was so your money is going somewhere. It's only a short walk, perhaps 10 minutes from one end to the other. The far end has a great viewpoint with useful signs telling you what you are looking at across the water. There's a large arcade with the usual machines and games, plus cafes and restaurants for ice cream, fish and chips, all the usual seaside treats. Plus nice benches dotted along the way, and a covered walkway for when the weather turns.
Ordered drinks and food. The drinks came reasonably quickly, but then there weren't many in the restaurant. The food however took 20 minutes and only after we had finished our drinks and gone to the counter to enquire as to the whereabouts of said food. We got told it was because one of the orders was pancakes and that's why it was taking so long. On arrival of food, the sausage sandwich was edible, the bacon and pancakes just about although the bacon wasn't very nice and got mainly left, the avocados and egg on toast wasn't edible, with the eggs hard boiled and the avocado off. We made our complaint to the staff and were offered a replacement, but the taste of the first, had put us off the idea. We were then offered a complementary cream tea, to which we did except, but only the scone cream and jam arriving, no tea. This then along with another scone cream and jam arrived, with a Oh you've already got it. When we came to pay, the cream tea had been put on the bill, to which we had to point out it had been offered in compensation for the bad avacardo and was complimentary. It was eventually removed from the bill. For an establishment that likes to make you wait to be shown to a table, the food and service are more akin to a bad roadside kebab van and we won't be making the same mistake of returning.
It's a pier (currently) with free entry after 630. Seems clean and well maintained, new (2010) pavillion on the end, with chips shop, cafe, restaurants and arcade. A pleasant enough way to spend an hour or so..
