Visitors can explore the opulent state rooms, including the saloon, dining room, and library, each filled with historic artifacts and works of art. The surrounding gardens offer serene walking paths, a tranquil lake, and picturesque vistas, making The Grange a must-visit destination for art lovers, history enthusiasts, and those seeking a peaceful retreat.
A fantastic evening held by Mrs Bennetts regency dance goup based at St Marks Church in Surbiton. Hosted by Libby Curzon who called the dances with brief demonstrations for new comers to enable everyone to join in. I was dressed in my best regency finery and danced the night away hoping that Mr Darcy would soon arrive to sweep me off my feet. The house alas, is in need of some major restoration by its owners (English Heritage) to restore it to its original condition. However the ceing nets to catch falling plaster and bare walls added to its charm. The house is set in magnificent landscaped gardens.
The building is a neoclassical structure surrounding an original building. The concrete is getting a bit dowdy. Not particularly interesting. Building was closed. Excellent walks in fantastic countryside. Almost felt like a micro climate with exotic and weird vegetation. Worth a visit. No Cafe.
Awesome architecture & loads of history behind the Northington Grange. If you're in the area it's definitely worth the visit, we walked around the outside close to the building & then again on the grass away from the building to admire all the architectural work. Heaps of room for a picnic and room to play soccer and other games. The building is starting to deteriorate & needs some needs good upkeep & definitely a pressure washer and this place will be better than ever. Signs around the property with information about the history about the Northington Grange, who the owners where, architectures etc. The most annoying thing is the drive from the main road to the property, there are heaps of potholes along the dirt road. Not much to say on this. There was an antiques fair setting up and the organisers were reluctant to let us in even though we are EH members. We walked round the outside. It is like the poor relation of Whitley Court!
Came to the opera..... was stunning, really glad I made the drive... 100 miles. What a beautiful location Highly recommend
It's located off the road, and getting here can be slightly tricky, but just follow google Maps. There is no access to the inside, and there are no toilets or other facilities. The venue appears to be used for events and weddings, so when we visited there were large tents built on the grounds. It's worth a visit if you are in the area or passing by.
