The Great Bench is a unique geological formation located in the Chiltern Hills, Buckinghamshire, England. It is a 12-mile-long (19 km) escarpment of chalk that stretches from the town of Wendover to the village of St Leonards. The bench is a prominent landscape feature, rising to a height of around 500 feet (150 meters) above the surrounding countryside. It offers panoramic views of the Aylesbury Vale and is a popular spot for hiking and walking. On a clear day, it is possible to see the skyscrapers of London from the top of the bench. The Great Bench is also home to a variety of flora and fauna, including rare orchids, butterflies, and birds.
