The Kelpies are the world's largest equine sculptures, standing at 30 meters tall and weighing over 300 tonnes each. They are located at The Helix: Home of the Kelpies, which covers over 350 hectares of green space between Falkirk and Grangemouth. The Helix includes the Plaza Cafe, the lagoon, woodland and wetland areas, miles of pathways and the Adventure Play Zone. To get up close and personal with the Kelpies our highly recommended guided tours let you get inside the magnificent structures, and tickets are available from our Visitor Centre. The Visitor Centre contains an exhibition space, toilet facilities, our cafe and our gift shop, and is open from 9am to 4pm daily. Parking is available on site or at the nearby Falkirk Stadium.
I got to see beautiful sculptures around nature. There is a playground for the kids to play at and gift shop/activity shop for them too. This area has paths for walking/running and bike riding so this is an ideal spot to unwind.
One of the most attractive places I've visited during our trip to Scotland. We planned and went there during the sunset hour. I was able to capture some amazing drone shots. It is recommended to visit during a summer evening. You can enjoy the beauty of the lit up structure.
Wow, just wow! Magnificent structures. Totally in awe of their size and lifelike structure. Ideally need improved transport links to them though, when you haven't a car. A lovely walk from the bus stop to them, but with an elder in tow, it was a long way. Also need a link from the Kelpies to the Wheel, other than a taxi or bus back to Falkirk and out again.
Good family fun and beautiful area. Excellent cafe and shop. We got there early, around 930am and there was no one collecting parking fee so we parked for free.
A good place for a day out. The river canal on the way to the park is beautiful. Try to go on a sunny day with your flower printed dress. A potluck with would be fun but make sure you clean it up. - Don't forget water bottles, you can refill your bottles as water dispenser near to the cafe. Enjoy!!
Amazing sculptures, huge up close, parking is free if you park in the first car park and walk down. It is about 10 min walk. The area is stunning and walks are great. You can easily do this all for free, if you don't go inside the structures. Great place for picnics, just bring your insect repellant as it's on the canal and the midgies are real! Great play areas and woodland walks around. Fantastic for everyone.
