The MAD Museum showcases over 600 exhibits of quirky, bizarre, and fascinating inventions, gadgets, and contraptions that defy explanation, featuring a vast collection of curious objects, strange artifacts, and peculiar devices that blur the lines between art, science, and technology.
The MAD (mechanical and art design) museum was great fun for us adults and the kids too. Lots of great exhibits/installations that are turned on by hovering over the buttons. Also a few large marble exhibits allow hands on fun. Reasonably priced at PS25 for family of four
My daughter was there with her school about 1 year ago. We were walking close to the Mad Museum and she said she would like to go there again so I went there with her. I really enjoyed it she also liked everything. Very interesting place, especially for children, so they can see creativity
Small but brilliant! So many amazing things to see, plus a few things to play with. Everything is sensor or lever activated to keep kids busy. Only a few doors away from Shakespeares birthplace, and a short walk to the river and markets (if they are on) make a great family day out
I really loved this, it's basically what it says so if mechanical automation is your thing, you'll be very happy. If it's not you'll whisk through in 10 minutes and wonder what all the fuss is about. It's not big but it has a lot of different types of automaton which you can set going by weaving your hand over the sensor. There's a space where you can build a simple marble run too.
We went over the easter holidays, no booking and no wait to get in. Very small museum, blink and you'd miss it if you weren't looking for it. We all enjoyed looking at the exhibits, adults and children. Tiny cinema inside which was good. Small gift shop at the end.
We really enjoyed our visit! I visited with my 6 and 3 year olds and they both loved it. The contraptions are captivating - I could have spent all day watching some of them - and the kids got to set them off with little motion sensors around the place. There's also a little play/interactive area at the back with a marble run, a tilt maze and a cog game to play with. We were there during the school holidays and the place was rammed so probably best visited in term time if you can. The staff were all lovely and the gift shop has some amazing bits and pieces in it if you are looking for something a bit different for a present.
