Set over three floors and with a great view of Plymouth's historic Barbican, the Mayflower Museum explores the story of the voyage of the Mayflower Passengers, their journey aboard the Mayflower, and their arrival in the New World.
As we are interested in the cultures of the UK and USA, this museum was on our list. We were not disappointed. A compact overview of the emigration/settlement of the east coast of the USA. Very nice exhibits and picture/multimedia information. Pleasant price/performance ratio. Friendly staff who were always available to answer our questions. Thanks and best wishes again. Well-stocked range of souvenirs, including about Plymouth and Devon. Visiting with dogs in a dog buggy was possible without any problems. Criticism: Unfortunately no public toilet available, but this is due to the structural conditions of the building. Greetings from Germany.
Not bad for 5 quid :) rally small place but you can take pictures with pilgrims costumes on second floor, games and secret windows :) so if you are 12 you will have a .. kind of good time, me as 36 yo .. it was great :)go there take pictures go to the cool ship on first floor, thanks for the lovely service, staff was great!!!
This interesting museum explains about the voyage of the Mayflower shop to "the New World". It has accounts of some of the pilgrims, and explains about the realities of colonisation.
Really enjoyed this museum - good size, good level of information and fun interactive bits. Told the story of the people on the Mayflower and the Wampanoag people very well - and was a much better account of colonisation than is typical of UK museums
I didn't get there yet, But I bought Airline tickets from S.Korea to London for getting there! lt's very important place as knowing for the ROOT OF U.S.A. I will be reached there soon by my self.
As someone who has lived in the area for years, this was my first time visiting The Mayflower Museum. It's great to see that The Box have added to it and it blends almost seamlessly with their collection. The exhibits are interactive with lots to look at and learn! The entry fee was reasonable and it took us a good while to look at everything. All I would say is it could do with some better promoting! I don't think I've seen any adverts for it and when we entered I wasn't even sure if it would be open as it was so quiet.
