This tranquil oasis in the heart of Henley-on-Thames features a beautiful garden filled with a variety of plants, flowers, and trees. The garden is situated on the banks of the River Thames, offering stunning views of the surrounding countryside. Visitors can wander along the meandering paths, explore the garden's many hidden corners, and discover its various features, including a pond, fountain, and sculptures. The garden is also home to a 19th-century mill building, which now serves as a charming tea room.
What a wonderful find! You travel all over the world and miss everything on your doorstep! This is such a beautiful place. The garden is immaculate! The river and castle on either side just set the scene for this wonderful place. Lose yourself in this place. And you will have a hundred questions about the gorgeous plants. We asked this wonderful lady who was working hard to keep the place looking fantastic. There wasn't anything she didn't know, and her passion shone through! You can just sit on the bench by the river and forget the world outside! Truly lovely!
We stumbled across The Mill Garden quite by chance and it turned out to be the highlight of our trip to Warwick. Tucked away at the foot of the castle, for a modest entry fee (in aid of charity) you can explore a beautiful English cottage garden with equally beautiful views of the river and castle. We visited in August and the summer planting was absolutely stunning. Apparently it's equally impressive when the spring bulbs are in bloom.
I recently visited the Mill Garden, and it was an absolutely delightful experience. This hidden gem is a perfect haven of peace and natural beauty. From the moment you step in, you're enveloped in a serene atmosphere that feels miles away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The garden itself is meticulously maintained, with vibrant flowers, lush greenery, and charming water features that create a picturesque setting. Every corner of the Mill Garden offers something unique and beautiful, making it a perfect spot for a leisurely stroll or simply sitting and soaking in the tranquility. What truly sets this place apart, however, is the fresh, invigorating air that instantly refreshes your senses. It's an ideal spot to relax, unwind, and reconnect with nature. The owners of Mill Garden are incredibly kind and welcoming. They clearly put their heart and soul into maintaining this beautiful space and ensuring that every visitor feels at home. Their passion for the garden shines through in every detail, and they are always happy to share insights and stories about the plants and the garden's history. In summary, Mill Garden is a peaceful, beautiful retreat that offers a refreshing escape from the daily grind. The combination of its stunning environment, fresh air, and the warm hospitality of the owners makes it a must-visit. I can't recommend it highly enough!
Excellent little out of the way garden overlooked by the castle. Very well maintained gardens brimming with plants. A great place for castle photos too!
If you visit Warwick give yourself some time to come and visit the Mill Garden. This small family garden is really unique and special. We paid PS3 each which is an absolute bargain. We left a donation later because we enjoyed it so much. It was also really special to meet the owner. She told us the story of the beginning of the garden and it's transformation to what we see today. Such a place of peace and calm, highly recommended.
A beautifully tranquil spot nestled between the castle and river Avon. Perfect for taking time out and just admiring the garden or getting those up close pictures of the castle.
