Dalgarven Mill is a treasure trove, created in a group of outstanding historical industrial buildings in a beautiful rural location in Ayrshire.
Excellent, far more there than expected, well displayed with interesting background history about how items came to be there, and the building of the collection. Superb costume collection and family/mill story, as well as household and agricultural bygones. Very welcoming, really friendly, helpful staff, and a smashing little tearoom. Many thanks.
Great place to visit. The museum is a treasure trove of local life. The staff are all friendly and very helpful. 5* to the cafe staff the food was gorgeous.
Caught in the Scottish poor weather, we came to visit this local museum. We really enjoyed and loved the exhibition and the history Definitely recommend this place. The tea room also has warm and hearty tea and scones and cakes. After the museum, come to the tea room on the ground floor
I was the driver that brought some local school kids down, whilst they were in the museum I had a very nice, welcoming cup of tea, I ordered the Ploomans lunch, 2 fruit scones & 2 cheese scones to take away, the lunch was amazing and the scones were fresh out the oven when I arrives, they were so tasty, I will definitely be back for lunch during the Easter Break
This is a fantastic place. The building is beautifully maintained and the exhibitions are excellent. The owner was on hand to give insights into fascinating historical back stories. And not forgetting the tearoom! Great food and lovely staff. My sister and I love this place!
Support a small community trust ith a great museum in former Mill. Interesting collection of country and farming life, plus a fine collection of fashionable black dresses from the 1920s to the 1950's. And a nice little cafe, serving breakfast, lunches and cakes.
