World famous Chairlift transporting guests from the cliff-top above Alum Bay down to the beach below. Located at the South Western tip of the Isle of Wight with a wonderful natural landscape, including the famous Needles Rocks & Trinity Lighthouse - the Isle of Wight's most famous landmark. Traditional fairground rides and great value family attractions add to the experience, including glass making and sweet making demonstrations.
The Needles are absolutely gorgeous. The multicoloured sand cliffs are outstanding. If you come early in the morning around 08:00am it is completely empty and you can enjoy the peacefulness of the place. The car park is very big and does not seem to be closed at all. There is lots of family entertainment offered but having just a boat trip and seeing a beach is enough, there is no need to do any more. The chair lift goes up and down. If you walk on the stairs, then there is a set of 100 steps, then walk on a ground and another 50 or more steps. The beach is a stony beach. There is a bit of a wet sand there when the tide goes in but you would not sit there on a towel or have a swim, it is not this type of beach. There is a walk from the car park on the top of the cliffs to the museum, which is very interesting. The boat trip is great.
Wow! What an incredible experience. We took a slow boat ride - Rumbling Rose for PS9.00 per person from the beach and went to see the Needles Landmark. The boat was very nice, the crew was friendly and knowledgeable. The ride last for 15-20 min but the views are exceptional. Worth every single penny. It's a must see if you're in the area
Amazing place to visit, great views and landscapes to admire. Ample parking PS6 for a day is great value. The chair lift to the beach is very handy but a little pricey PS9 return. There are plenty of shops and places to get refreshments and gifts. There are attractions at the top and boat rides available on the beach, I have been on the 'slow' boat, and the faster power boat, both are good value for money. We really enjoyed swimming in the clear waters and would love to return again.
The Needles Landmark Attraction is a must-visit if you're in the Isle of Wight. The iconic chalk stacks rising majestically from the sea are breathtaking and provide fantastic photo opportunities. The chairlift ride down to Alum Bay offers spectacular views of the coastline and the vibrant colored sands. There are plenty of activities for all ages, from the glass-blowing demonstrations and Sweet Manufacturing Demo . The boat trips around The Needles offer a unique perspective and are highly recommended. The Needles Battery, with its rich history and stunning views, is also worth a visit. The facilities are well-maintained, and there are several cafes and gift shops to enjoy. The staff are friendly and helpful, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. Whether you're a nature lover, history buff, or just looking for a fun day out, The Needles has something for everyone. Highly recommended!
This is a busy place after about 11. There is lots to do, but make sure you buy the PS9 books because they are worth PS12. If two adults and a child want to travel on the chairlift, then two books will pay for all three to travel. The beach is beautiful and the sea is pristine. The cliffs are unique with a range of colours. Just up the hill there is a National Trust site with an army battery. This is worth a visit, but pricey if you're not a member.
A must see with beautiful scenery and for the chair lift experience. There are also steps and path down/ to and from the pebble beach if you do not want to use the chair lift. Lots of gift shops and restaurant/cafe serving food and drinks. Toilet facilities available. Ample parking for coaches, car and bikes. Arrive before 11:30 if you want to avoid the crowds. Easy to reach with several different buses. Well recommend and very reasonably priced. Chair lift adult return PS9 or PS12 for unlimited trips.
