This charming historic town on the south bank of the Firth of Forth boasts a rich heritage, with many of its medieval buildings still standing. The 16th-century Culross Abbey, with its stunning Gothic architecture, is a must-visit, while the town's picturesque streets are lined with quaint shops, cafes, and historic inns. The town's strategic location made it an important trading hub in the 16th and 17th centuries, and its maritime history is still evident in its old harbour and sailors' cottages. Today, Culross is a popular destination for those seeking a tranquil and authentic Scottish experience.
Like stepping back in time! Lovely village, great to wander through the streets & wander up to the abbey- just a few shops, nice view across the water. Did the tour - well worth a visit
Lovely little village for a wee stroll about. Nice old buildings and some cobblestone streets.
Wonderful place. Need to go to office to book a time slot. Staff in admissions could have been more welcoming. Staff at entrance to The Palace were very welcoming. Short introductory film to watch. Lovely property and gardens though not easy access. Well worth a visit.
Quaint little town. Unfortunately, nothing was open, so we walked up to the Abbey. Well worth it!
A beautiful place to visit. The interior and exterior were both very interesting. They have an amazing garden that is a must to visit with the whole view of the burgh. Definitely very picturesque with lots of interesting plants.
A beautiful place to visit. There is a lovely walk along the coast. The abbey is beautiful inside and outside as are the ruins of the abbey. The streets are old, full of history and we're used for the TV show Outlander. I'm sure you'll not be disappointed if you venture there.
