Museum with local art, fossils from nearby beaches and a Bouncing Bomb prototype from WWII.
A lovely visit today with family. Such lovely museum staff Lady and Gentleman in shop so lovely to us . And another staff member took a picture for us. Lovely for children and adults. Not a massive museum but everything they did have was truly interesting. A rather than just filling spaces they really had relevant things.
Such a lovely hidden gem. We came across through wandering the streets of Herne Bay. Such a shame this isn't listed as things to do and see in Herne Bay when searching on Google.
Interesting museum and good activities for the children.
Lovely museum with welcoming volunteer staff. Changing exhibitions upstairs throughout the year-we went for the one on Hooden horses and Hoodening, very good. Other exhibits about the town including a maquette of the statue of Amy Johnson (life size one on the promenade) who reputedly died in seas off Herne Bay. Roman to 20th century exhibits, set out nicely in display cases and dioramas. Very good gift shop! Good accessibility with handrails both sides of stairs and a small lift. Well worth a visit.
Visited their Stone Age exhibit. What an insane collection of flint hand axes from the local area they have. Truly a collection that rivals some of the big museums in London. Some amazing artefacts from different eras too! Amazing little museum and a must visit!
Local residents take care about their Museum. It is felt in every piece and any corner. Thank you for great time!
