A stunning Victorian-era cemetery, The Slade is a tranquil oasis in the heart of Oxford, boasting an impressive collection of grand monuments, ornate gravestones, and beautifully maintained gardens.
Looking for a peaceful spot to jog or take a stroll? The Slade Ravine is perfect, even if it kinda looks like Shrek's swamp with its poor upkeep. But don't let that put you off! It's still a peaceful place where you can hear birds chirping as you walk. Just what you need to escape the city hustle for a bit.
Driven past many times and didn't realise there was a ravine here. Unfortunately rather overgrown and littered. The duck pond in the bottom of the ravine is fenced off and looks rather sorry. Could be a nice spot with a bit of investment by the local council.
This was my playground as a child where I would climb tree's and, in winter, sledge down the hill. I was there again in the summer when there was a huge number of butterflies.
I live within walking distance and this is a nice peaceful area to walk through. Plenty of natural sounds.
Place for mindfulness and meditation and in tune and alignment with nature and the environment and wildlife and a periurban rendezvous.
Lovely peaceful oasis
Wheelchair-accessible entrance
Good for kids
