The only roller coaster in the world to have 14 loops, this popular steel rides goes up to 85 kph.
I've absolutely loved this ride since it open when I was a kid! It really does make me smile, so it definitely lives up to its name! It has gotten a little rougher over the years but that's expected of a rollercoaster, I see no other faults than that. It's great when going on solo trips as it has a single rider queue! The staff when I visited last (25/05/24) were very friendly which helped make my day! Overall amazing ride, can't wait to come back and ride it again!
One of my favourite rides at Alton towers most rollercoasters is really short the smiler last a good amount of time the only down I have of it is that it can be a little bit of a headbanger, especially on the last turn at the end of the ride apart from that, I love the smile my favourite ride at Alton Towers!
This is one of my favourite roller coaster rides on the resort. Well designed to make you take a few Gs. Impressive engineering, and it feels very safe. Credits to the staff who are managing so many people during the day, ensuring our safety and making sure we all have a great day. Thank you Alton Towers staff. Perhaps a suggestion (for each rides): Would it be possible to have perhaps some facts displayed, as we are waiting for in the queue, about following: -When created? -time to complete the ride - distance achieved - expected location of the Gs (when applied to guests) and quantitation [perhaps take opportunities to explain what Gs are and what it means] I don't know whether these information are already available on the Alton Towers app, I have not seen it, I yes.
Awesome ride! The queue usually moves fairly quickly. Height restriction is 1.4m. I'm a size 20uk and fit comfortably in the seats.
After waiting for 2 hours, they suddenly announced that the ride needed maintenance. No one took responsibility for the wasted time. When the ride finally started working 2 hours later, they made everyone go to the back of the line. The management team's behavior felt like a scam, and they ended up wasting everyone's time for no reason. This is the worst theme park I've ever been to, and I'm extremely disappointed in the manager.
Very very very fun and would highly recommend to anyone who loves roller coasters, however with its eerie theming and its scariness overall, I cannot recommend it to those who are sensitive, also the queues are quite large. But I love this ride and it deserves a 4 star rating!
