DISTILLERY VISITOR CENTRE OFFERING TOURS AND TASTINGS Email [email protected] or call us on 01463248144 to book your experience. Tours are available throughout every day and we look forward to welcoming you to Tomatin Distillery this summer. Since 1897 Tomatin distillery has been producing quality single malt and blended whisky in an area of stunning natural beauty which has rich whisky making traditions dating back to at least the 1500's. Standing proud in the wild and windy moorland of the Monadhliath Mountains, it is home to Tomatin, a world renowned Highland single malt, Cu Bocan, a subtly smoky and surprisingly sweet single malt and The Antiquary, a premium blend crafted with only the finest and rarest malts.
Very great experience. amazing place to visit! Guides has total knowledge of whisky which make the visit fascinating. Every single step is explain in details and you really get a great understanding of the whole process of making great whisky! Thanks Tomatin for this great experience
Great experience for whisky lovers and even people that never tried whisky before. You go around an active distillery and get the chance to see and smell every step of the process. Our guides were really nice and informative, but sometimes hard to hear. The final stage is the sampling, which happens at a nice long table, with 3 different types of their whisky (if you rather finish your drink at home or you are driving, then they provide small glass bottles for your samples). Great all in all, would definitely recommend!
The tour was very informative and we started on time. It was great to be able to see and walk inside the giant mash tun!! Lots of fun and clear instructions on where we could take pictures. Marie was very knowledgeable and able to answer all questions directed to her. The tasting was great fun (even as a driver myself) and Marie brought the group together which was really nice
Booked on to a tour with Issie, it was really informative and engaging. She was fantastic and it was amazing to see a working distillery and smell and see the different stages. Highly recommend the tour with tasting.
We are new to the Tomatin whisky. We are.now big fans. The tour is well worth it and had 6 tastings. Each were unique. Fiona was our guide and she couldn't have done a better job. The 18 year is very smooth and all were excellent. Definitely worth a stop if you are close. Must make reservations as a lot of the days were booked.
I really enjoyed this tour. I've been on distillery tours before but you always learn something new on each. The guide was knowledgeable and funny. Unfortunately we were when they weren't producing the whisky (I'll leave them to explain why)but this in no way diminished the experience. Then at the end we were given 3 whiskys to taste and given advice on how to get the most from the experience. Best of all, the drivers were issued 3 bottles so that they could take the majority home to enjoy without fear of the local constabulary. The prices in the shop seemed sensible too. Well worth a visit.
