The Village Church Farm, formerly known as Church Farm Museum, is an open-air museum of local and agricultural history near Skegness, Lincolnshire, England.
Would recommend a visit to this interesting little museum if you're visiting Skegness. It's a short walk (under 15 minutes from lidl) I wouldn't say it was free to enter as they do expect a small donation as the council don't offer any funding to run it anymore and it's run purely by volunteers. There's a very knowledgeable man called Mike who seems to know everything about all the old machinery and tools, great man to chat with. It's very child friendly with a nice little cafe and plenty of grass area for kids to play and run around. They sometimes get the old machinery running for demo's so will have to watch out for that on our next visit.
Would recommend to anyone visiting Skegness, this museum is a hidden gem. I took a deep intake of breath at the workshops and the smell instantly transported me back to the smell of my late father's shed.
A beautiful little hidden gem in Skegness which is run by very passionate and friendly staff. I attended during their steampunk event which is just one of the many different events they hold throughout the year.
A great museum with lots to see. Attached is a lovely cafe. We stayed on the field with our tourer caravan which was great . Only observation from a camping perspective is with a heavy downpour the field in some locations gets flooded. Well worth staying as it's within Skegness with all the amusements and shops.
This place is very interesting. We came across it by chance and so glad we did. We thought we would only spend a couple of hours at most, so much to see we ended up here for 6 hours and would come back again. The staff were very friendly and we chatted for ages to different ones. The restaurant was very reasonably priced and good food. As were the ice creams on the green. Well done all you volunteers , it was a lovely day out. See you again soon
I found this little museum which had a lot to offer. The staff who are volunteers were very informative with information of the parts of the farm and of the house and of the people who used to live in the house. It was an unexpected surprise and well worth a visit. Also they have a cafeteria where you can pick up some soup and a roll and other snacks and tea and coffee at a reasonable price. Entry to the museum is by donation.
