Lovely little museum with friendly staff. The museum is in a former baths (later a shoes factory) and there are little glimpses into its past around the museum, look out for the glass floor panels into the bath area. Nice little model trains exhibit upstairs. Free entry.
An eclectic mix of things to view which took me down memory lane and I was able to give examples of how and when times were used back in the day! We both loved the old penny slot machines and being competitive, we had to make sure we won - a kitkats & polos! The staff were very friendly, talkative and helpful which is always a bonus. Not being from the area, some of the photographic exhibits weren't quite as interesting to us as someone who has always lived here. All in all it was an enjoyable experience.
Visited on a bank holiday, it was open. Had fun using the antique self-play piano. Also, other featured items had excellently written, precise descriptions. I loved every minute I spent in the museum.
Lovely little free museum, showing some amazing artifacts! My kids loved the dragon slide from the 70s that they could play in. Old arcade games to try your hand at, and win prizes! Fab little gift shop too
Lovely local museum to pay a visit to. It is free entry but of course, donations are appreciated. Great to have a look around - we stopped to have a cup of tea and some slices of cake (these are pre-packaged). There are some tables and chairs to have your drinks etc, books to purchase as well as a shop.
A very lovely place and an amazing experience.
