Really good day out yesterday with Russ, 3 of us had a lesson for two hours. Very knowledgeable and attentive lesson with a variety of traps and areas to shoot in. I'd highly recommend Russ as a teacher he got all 3 completely new shooters dusting pairs in no time. Great facility cannot fault it
I had some time to kill in Northallerton and found Thimbleby - I am very glad I did. I spent a really enjoyable hour on the air rifle range using a borrowed gun (PS20 including 100 pellets). The facilities are excellent; great food and drink at really reasonable prices and the toilets were immaculate. The air rifle lanes (4) are spacious and there's a good range of reactive targets as well as a couple of target boards on pulleys. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. Many thanks to Max in the gun room for spending time with me going through some options for my first shotgun purchase. Thanks Thimbleby, I'll definitely be back.
Had my first ever Shooting Lesson here. The staff were awesome on booking and arrival. The instruction I received was first class so so much so I'm hooked and looking forward to my third lesson and hoping to join the well rounded membership scheme offered soon. The facilities are exemplary and the grounds stunning with ample parking. Dog friendly too ! If you've never shot before and want to try it for yourself this is certainly worth a look.
Booked a clay pigeon shooting taster session for two when we were staying in Thimbleby. Instructor Adrian was very knowledgable and so patient. Had a great time and would go again. Clubhouse serves excellent quality, good value meals - order at the hatch, self serve your drinks then wait at your table for your food. All staff we interacted with were great throughout our visit. Highly recommended.
First visit to Thimbleby, amazing ground, amazing welcome at reception, really broad spectrum of targets for all abilities, and to top the day off excellent food area and great food.. Thimbleby is probably the best ground we have visited to date. We travelled a hundred miles for a morning shoot and were in agreement at the end that it was absolutely worth it. If you've never shot at Thimbleby, you're definitely missing out... see you again very soon..
Thimbleby is one of the best clay pigeon shooting centres I have been to. There is a large number of shoots of varying complexity, so it's suitable for beginners and your more experienced guns. What elevates this place is the club house, which has a really good cafe/restaurant which is well priced and serves good food, perfect for pre/post shoot. The shop is also fairly well stocked, it has everything you need but the range of stock is slightly limited. We can't wait to go back.
