A picturesque waterfall located in the Yorkshire Dales National Park, dropping 15 meters over a limestone cliff into a tranquil pool, surrounded by lush greenery and walking trails that offer stunning views of the falls and the surrounding countryside.
Amazing waterfall with big force. Went on a dry day and the force was massive, can imagine on a rainy day! We parked on top of Thornton Lane, though there is roughly space for 3-4 cars. Then went of the road, jumped the fence and took it straight down to the waterfall. This way you save about 50 minutes walking, though you going a bit rough.
Nice place to visit PS10 each to walk around and didn't disappoint.
The Crown jewel of the trail experience. It takes about 45 minutes to an hour to get from the car park to here at a fairly leisurely pace. Swimming isn't recommended in the plunge pool but that doesn't usually stop people having a dip in summer. It's possible to get behind the waterfall for a great photo but make sure whatever you're taking pictures with is fully waterproof. It's also really slippy & very easy to fall into the pool. So don't do this if you can't swim. If you ascend the steps to the left of the waterfall they take you up to the point where the river levels off for a while & it's very peaceful up there after the roar of the waterfalls. Carry on that path that turns right over a small metal bridge & goes up the hill & you'll (usually) find an ice-cream van for refreshments. Not far after that you'll get to the only toilets on the trail. For those wanting a really great view of the valley (& if you're fit enough) then ascend the steep hill behind the ice-cream van. Eventually you'll get to some limestone pavement with sparsely dotted, gnarly old hawthorn trees that make for great photo subject matter against the backdrop of the valley. Then just drop back down & rejoin the path.
The best waterfall on the Ingleton trail. It's one bit fall with a plunge pool. I had a swim here and the water wasn't too cold. There were however sharp rocks underwater and it's deep so take care. You can also go behind the falls but watch out for the slippery rocks.
This place is amazing to walk and clear your mind and fill freedom. Something what I can say I think the tiket is too expensive just for this tour 10PS per person.
Awesome waterfall, at least when I was there. It wasn't a torrent of water but a steady trickle over the edge. There were quite a few people paddling in the pool and a few brave souls were swimming so I decided, why not! I had my swim shorts with me so after a discrete change into them I took the plunge. Was the water cold? YES, of course, but it was also exhilarating at the same time. After a short while you couldn't really feel the cold but then I didn't stay in for too long. Well worth a quick dip but only when the water is calm of course.
Wheelchair-accessible entrance
Good for kids
