This nature reserve in England's Wirral Peninsula features three small hills, known as the Three Sisters, which are surrounded by woodland, heathland, and wetlands. The reserve is home to a variety of wildlife, including birds, insects, and small mammals, and offers scenic views of the surrounding countryside. Visitors can explore the area through a network of footpaths and trails, including the Wirral Way, a 12-mile walking route that passes through the reserve. The site is also of geological interest, with exposures of Triassic sandstone and conglomerate.
Come here quite alot in the week as the cafe run by volunteers is only open weekdays till about 2pm. The cafe is run by very friendly staff and is part of a way for young adults with additional needs to gain skills and experience by helping with different around the cafe and site. The walks around the Three Sisters is always a nice one away from the roads. Definitely worth a visit for people who walk dogs and if you just want a safe place to walk with children and get them into nature.
Excellent walking area for all the family, playground for the children. Fishing at the side of the lake. Lovely big park with lots of paths to wander. Lovely all year around. Unfortunately the three sisters race track runs quite often and can be very noisy for the animals and people, though once passed, the animals have a lot more fun than people! Highly Recommended
Dreadfull. Waste of a journey. It is considrrably small, with narrow footpaths. It is not ideal for dogs. It would be better named a swamp rather than a nature reserve. The only wildlife we saw were pigeons, seagulls and the local riff raff hanging out, nuisance behavior, smoking and drinking alcohol. We will stick to our local nature reserve. Pennington flash. Absolutely beautiful and well looked after.
Regularly walk around, and live finding new things. The Enchanted Forest with the fairy houses is such a delight for the youngsters, and us oldies too.
Found Greater Burdock , Giant Polypore& Hoof Fungus today ,very interesting .
Fantastic place to take dogs and kids out for a run. If you want a nice walk avoid going on race day as it can upset the tranquility of the woods.
