Thrigby Hall is a 17th-century country house located in Filby, Norfolk, England. The hall is a Grade II* listed building and features a mix of Jacobean and Georgian architectural styles. The current building dates back to 1637, although there has been a house on the site since the 15th century. The hall is constructed from red brick with a steeply pitched roof and ornate chimneys. The façade is symmetrical, with a central doorway and evenly spaced windows. The interior boasts ornate plasterwork, wooden paneling, and a grand staircase. The hall is surrounded by 25 acres of parkland, which includes a lake, woodland, and a walled garden. Thrigby Hall has been owned by the same family for over 400 years and remains a private residence, although it is occasionally open to the public for events and tours.
Great place to bring your kids to see the animals. The big cats are always out and about unlike the other well known zoos we have been to. The cafe was well equipped too and good choice of food and the staff were lovely.
Great place. Price was really good. Could get up close and personal with the animals. I highly recommend! 99% wheel chair friendly. One walkway that you can't go across but we were made aware of this beforehand!
To start I was surprised by the price, PS31.90 for one adult (PS17.95) and one child (PS13.95), maybe the going rate. I would have changed my mind after the visit if I was not really disappointed, I just felt this place helps the argument by those who who are anti zoo'. I feel the enclosures are too small, I might have been spoilt visiting other establishments, not just in the UK. I understand the excellent work carried out by zoos for environment and battling extinction, disease and educating people. I am sorry to leave this review, we all have opinions. David
Smaller than your average zoo but well worth it.. animals enclosures are maintained and the animals look well cared for. Thoroughly enjoyed our family visit x
Nice & relaxed walk with our children & our wheel chair fitted over the bridges across the water
