Thrigby Hall Wildlife Gardens Just a stone's throw from Great Yarmouth, Thrigby Hall Wildlife Gardens is the perfect day out for families, with so much to see from endangered tigers and leopards to red pandas, noisy gibbons, and many more exciting animals. A unique network of raised walkways allows visitors to get up close and personal with many of the animals.
We took our 7 year old twins here yesterday and we had a lovely time. What stood out the most to us, was the layout. Where some zoos and wildlife parks have a single walkway around with animal pens often a distance away, Thrigby Hall Wildlife Gardens have created a way to walk around, under, above and up close with a lot of their animals. The kids loved being that close.
I was so surprised when I visited Thrigby Hall as it is wonderful . Everything is signposted showing ease of access. There are lots of animals and we loved the way that they had connecting passages between their enclosures giving them a larger area. It was a hot summers day and the animals all had areas of shade. I don't know who enjoyed themselves more, granddaughter, daughter or nanny. I will go back again. A wonderful place
No wait to enter the park. I've been about 20+ times but still good every time. Everything labelled, never too busy, always interesting to see the animals. Beautiful bird near the front which I always speak to. Great view of only the one tiger now, and all animals given a bit of room except the Snow Leopards and the regular Leopards. They need a bit of an expansion. Monkeys were hilariously loud and funny. Would recommend.
Spent a lovely time here. As a wheelchair user, I always struggle to access all the same areas as able bodied visitors. Here at Thrigby Hall there was not an enclosure, tree top walk, or viewing platform that I couldn't access. The accessibility here has been given lots of thought. The animals are well looked after, and it's amazing how close you are able to get to them. What a lovely find! Would definitely recommend.
Well worth a visit if your nearby. It's fairly small, but you can get so close to the animals. Doesn't have the same "health and safety" that bigger zoo's have, which is refreshing. Food in the cafe is very good too, nice selection.
Having not been to Thrigby Hall for many years I wasn't sure what to expect, but we booked online (PS62 for a family of 4, very reasonable) and took our trip. Queueing was easy and quick, the grounds are laid out well and signposted better, the animals are brilliant and seem well looked after and everything is in good order, well maintained. Our only disappointment was the treetop walk being closed. Highly recommended
