This semi-natural ancient woodland with an impressive showing of spring flowers is just on the edge of Pershore.
A nice woodland walk. There is a gravel track route from the car park which ends at the A4104 (approx 30 mins, slow pace with dog, sunny!). From here, if you walk left along the road route (there is grassed areas to walk on), you can head down into Pershore at the back of the Abbey and park), but you do have to walk through a housing estate!). Coming back, there was a sign for a bridal path which we took. If you stay straight, it cuts out the corner and brings you back on to the gravel track; go right back to the car park. The gravel track is an easy walk but you'd have to turn around and come back. Wasn't wet despite a lot of rain night before. Good width of track, not overgrown. There are plenty of other routes off this track, but not signposted that we could see. A local walker told us they all come back round in a circular route (??) and weren't that long. A decent walk in the woodlands, about an hour???), but we walked in to Pershore and back. Wasn't many people about (Friday 24.8.24). Car park free.
I frequently walk and run through the many paths at Tiddesley Woods. Absolutely beautiful place to explore. The bluebells are a wonderful sight as well as the many other wild flowers. If you're lucky you catch a glimpse of varied wildlife including deer, owls and buzzards. Best part costs nothing.
What a lovely wood this is, visited today with the Butterfly Conservation to see Purple Emperors. We only found one perching up at the top of an Oak Tree. (Got a photo of it from a telescope) Will definitely be coming to visit it again.
Pleasant woodland to stroll through. We stuck to the gravel tracks as we noticed some of the trails were quite muddy. Carpets of bluebells were an impressive sight along with occasional cowslips and primroses. Well worth a visit.
Lovely place for a walk with great scenery. Would recommend.
We had a lovely walk. It is a shame that we can't post videos here, because I took one to share with my family the cacophony of bird song.
