The Time and Tide Bell is a 12-tonne bell situated on the north pier of Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, England. It is one of the largest bells in the world and is rung daily at 12 pm to signal the high tide. The bell is 2.5 meters in diameter and 1.5 meters in height, and is made of bronze. It was cast in 2019 and was originally intended to be a symbol of the town's maritime heritage.
I've never heard the bell ringing as i always seem to catch the tide going out further down the beach. Maybe next time
Choose your time to visit about an hour and a half before high tide and you will experience the bell at its best. It has a lovely tone that repeats with each incoming wave. A must see if you are in the area.
Lovely quiet beach
So pleased to finally be able to welcome the Time and Tide Bell to the beach. It's sound is very meditative, redolent of a Buddhist monastery.
It keeps us awake !!!!!!!!
