Play park with a variety of child-designed structures, grassy areas & exercise machines for adults.
Good place for kids to burnout their sugars....also good place for cycling routes... There's is a route from here to Chartham where families can wind down the day to day stress by going cycling with family or walking, running and dog walks....it is a flat route with tarmac halfway through and you will hit gravel of a bit and tarmac again. Very scenic route with lots of nature surrounds you. Check out the pictures for your self.
It's very greenish park and it was walkable distance from the West gate station, we've taken many pics in the garden. There is lot of flowers in front of the playground. Canals will be there in two sides of the park area.not too much depth, boating will be there.
The kids love the playground but be warned, if you are visiting from overseas it's impossible to pay for the parking if you do not have a UK phone. At the time of writing, you must use the RingGo app which will only install on a UK region phone. There is parking a bit further away but they didn't accept my debit card and unfortunately did not have any coins. As I'm writing this, I'm trying to get a family to try and pay for me... The play ground is great, 4 stars, but greatly let down by the parking facilities, and based on that just 1 star, I'm afraid
A beautiful little park you should visit, if in the area with the kids.
We would've had a much better experience here if two of the children we visited with hadn't fallen in a water bog that looked like the rest of the grass in the park, one of which lost his shoes in there and had to leave bare foot and upset!! Contacted Canterbury Council by phone whilst at the park to see if anything could be done, who forwarded me to someone else who managed the park, (couldn't remember the name of the company) who said that Canterbury Council are aware of the issue and theres nothing they could do. I asked if someone could be sent out to help retrieve the shoes as we had all attempted with no luck due to all of the deep water being under grass we couldn't see them, and was told no. It didn't seem like anyone cared about the issue or the fact that children were falling in it. Surely there should be something taping the area off or warning signs stating there's water under the grass? We then witnessed from a distance multiple other children fall in and end up covered in the muddy algae water, too, so it wasn't just our children. Parking isn't cheap either!
Beautiful place, brilliant park for the kids toilets on site as well as parking and if you rather a walk there's a Beautiful scenic path along the river
