I think calling this area a leisure park is a bit misleading but it is a great area for walking the dog. I haven't walked the whole area but I'm sure there is a lot more to see than the fields I've walked around. There seems to be wooded areas as well as a canal side walk. I have spoken to someone who has seen deer here so must be a good place to see wildlife if you're in the right place at the right time.
Very misleading calling it a "leisure park". It is a place to walk your dog on the understanding that everyone picks up after their dog.
A very large grass area split by trees for dog walkers & families to use. Several ways into it. Access from Thorne Canal bank via a small bridge & about 3 steps which are a bit steep. Also from other side of old Rising Sun pub which is a lot flatter but has a sty without the step access.
Would be excellent IF I could get my mobility scooter through the 24hr a day locked gate.
Go at 10am-11am or 2pm-3pm weekdays for quiet times, plenty of parking, B&M, Aldi, McDonald's, also a great pub, The Kings Chamber, and on your way in there is a children's play centre.
I often walk my dog around toll bar leisure park and along the canal, where we meet some really nice people with their dogs.
Good for kids
