Traditional B&B offering elegant rooms with en suite bathrooms, plus full Scottish breakfast.
This is no ordinary B&B! Luxurious, grand, comfortable, chic, relaxing, and with an amazing breakfast. Our hosts, Ian and Diane, went over and above to ensure we had a faultless stay, and considering we came for a 'whole weekend multi event' Scottish wedding I am sure we were higher maintenance than most guests with lots of comings and goings and some quite annoying requests (!!!) The rooms are wonderful, with every comfort you could want and some lovely luxurious touches... the views from the bedrooms and dining room over the surrounding countryside are breathtaking. The house is big enough to not feel like you're intruding into someone's personal home, but it still maintains a lovely homely feel, that must be a hard balance to strike but this place has got it spot on. We had a difficult journey to Scotland from London as our train was very delayed. By the time we arrived at the house, we were all very tired and hungry... what a lovely surprise to be greeted with fresh coffee and an amazing homemade cake! Just one example of the extra touches that make this place so great. We were a group of 5 people and we all said we'd love to return one day to this special B&B. We only had one morning to do 'non-wedding' things but what we did see of the area we really loved... some beautiful towns and beaches to explore. Thank you Ian and Diane for such a wonderful stay (and for kindly posting my toothbrush to me!!).
Ian and Dian always give a warm welcome to their beautiful home, with tea and home made cakes served in their lovely dining room. The surrounding garden is kept in immaculate condition, and hosts a wide variety of birds, as well as red squirrels. The rooms are large and have everything we could need, and more. Breakfast is a special treat with fresh produce and a wide choice of food all beautifully presented. One of the few places to use damask cloths and napkins, which add another layer of luxury to this outstanding Guest House. Thank you Ian and Dian for another happy and memorable experience.
While hiking the Speyside Way in August 2022, we reached Fochabers slightly ahead of schedule so we were too early to check in to the Trochelhill Country House. The town was very quiet as it was a Bank Holiday Monday. Fortunately the Red Lion Tavern was open.||Ian picked us up from there and we were greeted by Diane with tea and home made cakes and deserts.||Our room and the whole house is beautifully decorated and very well appointed. They have a lovely drying room for wet clothes and boots which was really super.||We stayed for two nights and so enjoyed two marvelous breakfasts. We felt so at home and comfortable it was a pity to have to leave but we did have the rest of the hike to complete.||Both Diane and Ian were gracious hosts making you feel more like family than guests. Exceptional.
Dian and Ian absolutely deserve their 5 star rating. Nothing was too much trouble. The house is spacious, comfortable, sympathetically furnished and immaculately clean. The bathrooms look as though they have just been fitted. ||||The pinnacle of the experience was the full Scottish breakfast. It is sumptuous with its haggis, black pudding and Lorne sausage. It was so comprehensive, in fact, that by day three respite was sought in scrambled egg & smoked salmon (the only salmon seen on the trip, btw!). ||||Well done and thank you to you both.
This is, to put it simply, the best B&B in Scotland and unless you can prove otherwise I'll maintain my view. Trochelhill could be described as spotless but a spot has never even been seen here. |The bedroom is beautiful in every way and has a huge bathroom with walk in shower and all anyone could want and no spots! |Our hosts were very welcoming and always ready to offer help. |The best place to stay with lovely views and a garden full of birds. |PS I defy you to go away hungry after a such delicious breakfast.
We stayed for two nights at this lovely country home a few miles from Fochabers. Our hosts Ian and Diane were very nice, and helped us with arrangements for our visit. One night we had takeout pizza for dinner and they set up plates and everything else we needed in the dining room. Our room was spacious and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent: smoked salmon option. We would love to stay again.
