Fantastic place to visit - especially with kids. The new-build butterfly house is really modern, with a great selection of butterflies and more. The woodland walk is great, plenty to see, loads of birds (the owls are fantastic). You can easily spend a few hours looking around, there's talks and shows, a small animal house, cafe, and the facilities are great. There's even a little games room and some mini carts and ride-on tractors for the younger ones. Definitely recommend to anyone for a fun & educational day out.
Tropical butterfly house Incredible day out with the kids! My girls absolutely loved today. Fun for all ages! I was VERY happy that there were a lot more animals to see and interact with. Even animatronics! Staff are very welcoming and informative, the lay out of the place is very easy with a few different routes. So much to see and the fact you're able to pet majority of the animals and insects makes the experience even more exciting for little ones. Perfect for anyone needing wheelchair access Plenty of staff, sitting and eating areas. Very decent prices and don't seem to charge silly prices. You can pay food for certain animals to feed them. Car parks is at the front of the butterfly house with plenty of spaces.
Lovely place to visit. It's more of a wildlife park than a butterfly centre as only a small part is the tropical house. There is so much to see and do with interactive displays, talks and birds of prey demonstrations. The cafe and seating area is outside the park so you can visit without going in and they have pods you can book for afternoon tea. Well worth a visit for young and old.
We came here with the family (1, 3, & 5 year old) for the first and it was brilliant. We spent 4 hours here but we could have done with going earlier than what we did and spending an extra 1-2 hours (6 hours) in total. Staff were all lovely and very helpful and easy to talk to. There were so many interactive things around for everyone and so many photo opportunities for memories. The play area was great, there was a track for the mini cars and several sand areas and also a couple of climbing play areas. It was easy to find food and plenty of tables outside as well as inside. We paid for the large dining pod so we could celebrate our 1 year olds birthday and we took our cake. It was no hassle for the staff as they were happy taking our cake for us to look after it whilst we walked around first. We were also allowed to decorate it with things and we had access to the pod all day & could leave our belongings in there too. The food we bought was all great quality. The only negative I have for the whole day was that the bins outside the eating area were all full to the point no one could find anywhere to put their rubbish. The dino trail was great too, the children all loved it & the stepping stones over the water in the dino trail was so fun. We would love to come again and are already planning it. Thank you so much. We'd recommend to everyone thinking of going here, you won't be disappointed
We visited for my daughter's birthday. Unfortunately we had missed the lemur demonstration. We had looked online to see what time it was on as we had commitments in the morning. Unfortunately there was very little information online about what was happening that day. The place had a few primary school visits but there was enough space that we weren't running into them a lot. We loved the otters, so cute and clever. We loved chatty Billy, the parrot. The armadillos are such fun scurrying around in the sand. The birds in the bird house were fascinating. And the butterflies were beautiful. It's only our 2nd visit to say we're pretty local, we need to visit more.
I first went here with my older sons. That was 20 or so years ago. Today we were there with our 3.5 year old. There has been a considerable investment in this place and to good effect. The newish butterfly house is fantastic. Lots of interesting creatures in general around the site. The outdoor play area is also excellent.
