Ty Nant is a meadow that can be booked for nature watching or dog walking. The meadow is pretty with a tree lined brook running through it. It can also be hired for wild camping. Kites and buzzards fly above and sightings include dippers, long tailed tits, siskin, tree creepers, green finches, nut hatches, wood peckers, wrens, tawny owls, bats, frogs, newts and otters. There is a bird hide with seating, 2 pair of good binoculars & nature information. One guest Michael Morgan took the amazing kite photos near their nest in 2023. We ask for donations if you can afford it to help us create habitats like ponds, wild flowers and for tree planting. We hope to see you soon. Amazing first walk with our three dogs today. Perfect access to the stream for our water loving but very arthritic Labrador! The whole meadow is a wildlife haven and you feel totally secluded to enjoy your walk or picnic and the perfect place for wild camping! Why would you book a crowded campsite when you can have the whole meadow to yourself! We loved it so much we have booked it for a birthday party for family and friends and we can't wait to return. Jean the owner is lovely and welcoming. Highly recommended! Bella, Lupin and Ruby would give it 10 stars if they could.
I stayed at Ty Nant recently for 3 nights, off-grid in my camper van with my 2 dogs. It was a truly wonderful experience, with so much space all to ourselves, stunning views, the dogs loved it and I didn't want to leave! Stephen and Jean are just the loveliest, kindest couple, always on hand if needed but left us to it the rest of the time. Stephen was amazing when I got my van stuck in the mud, coming to the rescue with his tractor and a tow strap. Jean provided a big metal fire pit, a whole wheelbarrow full of wood with kindling, firelighters etc. There was also a fridge, microwave etc in the caravan we were welcome to use, but didn't need. Not only did we have the whole meadow with the bird hide and stream all to ourselves, but we were able to walk in the adjacent fields too! It was brilliant! The dogs loved the freedom and it was a memorable 'wild with consent' camping trip, we will absolutely definitely be returning. Loved everything about it.
Amazing place our dog loved the meadow an stream views our breath taking an the bird watch area with binoculars is amazing so many different type of birds its must vist if your close by
Stayed here for bank holiday weekend, absolutely loved it! As wild camping goes it is brilliant. Access to stream, water and fire wood.. what else do you need :). Lovely hosts, very helpful.
We hired the meadow a few times over Easter Weekend to walk our reactive dog, and it was perfect! The field is secure, has a lovely stream running through it, is in the most beautiful of locations and has the added bonus of birds of prey regularly flying overhead and nearby. The owners are responsive and very accommodating. 5 stars all round!
Lovely eco-farm we found on way home from Hay on Wye Festival! For a small fee, we chatted to Steve the friendly farmer, who took us to see the Red Kite nest, and into a nearby field to watch the Kites flying surrounded by sweet lambs, before going to the small hide to see siskins and other small birds too. In time a more disabled friendly hide, and maybe a tent on the field so kites could not see us, but all in all a delightful morning!
