A picturesque and secluded bay with a crescent-shaped sandy beach, surrounded by rugged hills and rocky cliffs, offering scenic views, tranquil atmosphere, and opportunities for swimming, sunbathing, and relaxation.
Uig Bay - stunning beaches, tranquil waters, no matter what the weather.
Another nice walk . One minute sun , next dark clouds and a little rain ! I know ... hard to believe in March . The missing chessmen are here somewhere.. the contrast in colours here is amazing , sand yellow red granite dykes , Lewisian gneiss
If you ever get the chance then Uig Sands on the Isle of Lewis needs to be added to your bucket list. A open expanse of sand as far as the eye can see addresses the dunes and mountains beyond. You can walk along the beach, over the dunes or waters side. Nothing but nature and openness will join you as you explore. I recommend that you visit.
What a delightful lovely place to visit. Plenty of places to walk along this tranquil bay. You can walk from the car park across to the other side where there a small foot bridge that takes you into the mainland. Great place to bring your dog too! If you like waking, beeches, sea air and great views you can't go far wrong. Highly recommended.
Would not believe this is the UK absolutely stunning! Would love to revisit when summer decides to appear. Will remember to take a football next time too! Perfect for it!
Stunning sandy bay, massive area to paddle as tide was out. Just stunning views and idyllic location. Superb beach.
Good for kids
