Open-air history center where costumed actors & period buildings tell the story of Irish emigration.
Well worth the visit, a great day out. The park is well laid out, making you feel like you've gone back in time. The staff are super friendly and they are very good at being the time period characters providing lots of fantastic information. The gift shop has a good selection of books and there is a cafe for refreshments or a treat after walking around the park.
A lovely experience of life in Ireland, the journey to America, and then life in America. The staff were all too happy to describe the way of life at the time. Many original buildings and artifacts are on display, and the park itself is lush and green. Highly recommend.
Amazing set up from start to finish. So informative and lovely to walk around. Staff were all amazing and the food in the cafe was delicious
I visited The Ulster American Folk Park today with a group of about 30 in number. The weather wasn't kind to us until we got about half way around the park. However it did stop raining for a little bit of the day There are so many little houses, some thatched, shops, pubs, 2 churches, a pub, saddlers, chemist, all as it used to be back in the 1800 etc. The ship that people travelled in to emigrate to America all laid out. Such an interesting place to visit and at the same time learn and see how people used to live. There is a gift shop and a lovely cafe on site also. Anyone who visits won't be disappointed.
Visiting from North Carolina in the U.S. Definitely recommend visiting! Balanced and meaningful interpretations. Truly appreciated that the museum did not shy away from telling all aspects of this history of immigration, including slavery in the U.S., and relations with indigenous nations throughout North America. The language that was used throughout the museum (from both interpreters and on panels) was inclusive, and the history being told, though difficult, is necessary to know. Had great conversations with interpreters throughout the living history sites of the museum. The interpreters are constantly researching to give guests the best, most knowledgeable experience possible. Also, all around great guest service, especially at the welcome center. Thank you to the entire team at the museum for this experience! Definitely on my list to return to whenever I'm next in the country.
Absolutely fantastic place when it's not Halloween but we also go every Halloween and the show they put on is brilliant, storytelling, cooking, talks, music and dancing , games for the kids and that's not including all the walking about visiting all the areas in the park , highly highly recommended, we all love it as a family from mum and dad to 16 Yr old 12yr old to 6 Yr old!
