A picturesque reservoir nestled in the Peak District National Park, surrounded by rolling hills and lush greenery, offering scenic walking trails, tranquil atmosphere, and opportunities for birdwatching and fishing.
Had a lovely walk around the res. It was a little muddy in places especially after all the rain we have had. The sun shining through the trees more than made up for it. You can walk around the waters edge but you have to leave in one section and walk at the side of a busy road. Noticed most people tended to walk to the half way point and turn back. We did the full circle and enjoyed our 1.5 hours that it took us to gently stroll around.
Good for a walk. Saw a display of northern lights back a while.
Gorgeous walk that takes just under an hour. There is also a lovely pub called 'ye olde mustard pot' that does a mouthwatering Sunday roast
Park up at Midhopestones and take a leisurely stroll around Underbank reservoir. Easily navigational paths around the reservoir. Lots of birdlife and squirrels to view. Great for an hour or so and not very taxing.
Found it to be possible to walk all round reservoir starting and finishing at Ye Olde Mustard Pot; many geo-caches, an old spring, pheasant, pair of kestrels hunting, bridge, and tower to see aside from woods.
Had a lovely walk around Underbank reservoir, only downside is you can't walk around it properly and have to come off and walk alongside the busy road with loads of lorries rumbling past you.
