Upper Booth Farm Campsite is a tranquil retreat nestled in the heart of the Peak District National Park, offering stunning views of the surrounding countryside. The campsite features well-maintained grass pitches, modern amenities, and a range of on-site facilities, including a shop, cafe, and toilet blocks. Visitors can explore the picturesque village of Edale, hike to the summit of Kinder Scout, or simply relax amidst the serene natural beauty of the Peak District.
The campsite is fantastic! It has a well maintained facilities block that is cleaned everyday. |We found the atmosphere very relaxed, staff not badgering you and generally leaving you too it. You're not assigned pitches which worked great for us as we could choose the spot we wanted, and also have our friends pitch by us. |Bricks were available around the site to put under your BBQs, and drinking water was available at the sinks outside the facilities block.|The campsite is right on the path of the pennine way, a short walk to Jacobs Ladder, and follow-on to Kinder Scout. |The campsite unfortunately closed due to weather warnings at the end of our stay, thankfully this didn't affect us, but staff were really on the ball getting around to everyone to give warnings about securing tents and making sure everyone knew where to go in an emergency. |Wanted to mention Tom who was working the majority of our time there. What a fantastic member of staff! He was extremely knowledgeable and helpful, so positive and pleasant to approach. Absolute credit to the site! ||We would 100% come here again next time we visit the Peak District
Lovely campsite. We arrived and pitched ourself. The toilet block was clean and a good size, the showers were nice and warm and there was a cleaning dishes station with hot running water. We didn't use the shop but the fact there was one was a nice bonus. There was a significant lack of signal, but we enjoyed that. The closest pub was a decent hike away from the site but it was through fields which made it quite a pleasant journey. Some amazing walks nearby also, we found some incredible sights on our hike of Kinder Scout. The only issue I'd like to point out were the roads leading to the site. Lots of pot holes, and since it's a narrow road there isn't much opportunity to swerve them. If anyone is precious about their cars / campers, definitely one to bear in mind.
The campsite was great! Staff were friendly and helpful, and check in was incredibly efficient. There was unmarked pitching in the upper field, which allowed us to choose our pitch. This was very helpful as we chose a spot in the shade, meaning that the tent didn't get too warm despite the 24'C temperatures (they didn't last long!).||The facilities were mostly clean (except for the odd bit of grass on one or two occasions), and the showers were warm! Despite the campsite seeming relatively full on our first night, it wasn't a problem getting a shower. The upper field is quite hilly in places, so it might not be a the best for those wanting a glamping experience!||Mobile reception on the campsite was patchy to say the least, there was some mobile reception on Three, both at the aptly named "Signal Hill", and also at some parts of the fields. There was absolutely no mobile reception on O2 (but this is definitely O2's problem). There was no WiFi on site, but they never claimed that there would be.||My only major criticism was the slightly flawed emergancy procedure system. Reception was only open from 9am - 5pm and the signs around the site instructed you to call a number if you needed support outside of these hours. Unfortunately, the mobile reception was very patchy, and non existent with some providers. This would have made it rather challenging to do this. I understand that this is not a frequent occurrence, but it would be reassuring to know that you were able to do so in an emergency situation. Perhaps either free WiFi (so people can use WiFi calling) or a courtesy phone outside of reception might solve this issue....?||I would also suggest that you exercise caution when driving up the road towards the campsite, as there were quite a few, large potholes on the road.
The area of the site for tents is poorly maintained with very long grass, huge mud patches where mole hills were and only a few level pitches. |Not enough area set aside for parking which makes set up and break down challenging at the very least. |Not enough toilets and showers for the amount of visitors to the site. However the toilet block is very nice, kept clean but very limited on its facilities. Staff were friendly and as helpful as they could be. ||The biggest issue is a "Rat problem" our food was ransacked over night two nights on the trot as well as other campers. They even chewed through a rucksack. The vermin chewed there way into a neighboring tent, PS100's of pounds worth of damage and not any control measures to be seen. Rats carry dreadful diseases which are easily transmitted to humans. NT you need to get a grip of this pronto! ||NOT GOOD ENOUGH National Trust you need to do much better given the fees you charge for the privilege of setting up your tent at what could be a fantastic experience !!!!
Good little campsite not far from Jacobs Ladder and 20 min walk to Edale. Stayed on bottom field which was empty and can get a little damp. Facilities were alright and place generally clean. Had to park car in car park but it was only a short walk away. Tight roads to get into the place but once there the views are great.
Amazing experience. Was my first time camping properly and I have to say, I'm converted to camping! Is the best location for Jacob's ladder and hiking down pennine way. Highly recommend. Prices were great and the lady who runs it was so lovely ! Bathroom facilities were splendid too! I cannot fault it
