Great waterfall reachable with a 1 mile hike through cow pastures. Saw wild grouse. Upon reaching the Valley of Desolation, cross the Bridge of Death over the Gorge of Eternal Peril. There amongst the ferns you will find the oasis.
Magic place. I am delighted and very impressed with the place and views. Very well-kept, clean, I'm glad I didn't see any bottles or garbage in the forest - this rarely happens. Wonderful, pure nature. I will definitely go back there.
Amazing waterfall and not a far walk from Cavendish Pavilion/ Bolton Abbey. Some parts can be a little steep but overall easy enough for all the family including little ones. I enjoyed sitting on the rocks in the stream with a little picnic watching the falls. On heading back it was also nice to stop along the river for a rest before hiking back to the car. Only thing I would advise is to park roadside and hike if possible as parking at Bolton Abbey is upwards of PS10.
