Opened in 1900, this restored site offers a fountain, lake, tennis courts, playgrounds & a dog park.
Victoria Park is truly my favorite park, offering a perfect blend of activities and beauty that makes every visit enjoyable. On our most recent trip, we had an amazing time exploring all the park has to offer. We started with a game of tennis, which is a great way to get some exercise and enjoy the outdoors. Afterward, my son had a blast riding his bike along the well-maintained paths, giving him the freedom to explore the park at his own pace. The playground and splash park are fantastic for children, offering a safe and fun environment where they can run around, climb, and cool off on warmer days. It's wonderful to see my son so engaged and happy, surrounded by other children who are just as excited to be there. Esposito's, the on-site cafe, is another highlight of the park. Whether you're in the mood for a quick snack or a more substantial meal, the food is always delicious, and the atmosphere is welcoming. It's also a great spot to relax with a coffee while keeping an eye on the kids. The park is well-equipped with clean, accessible toilets, which is always a plus, especially when you're spending the day with young children. One of the most serene parts of Victoria Park is the lake. It's a beautiful spot to take a stroll or simply sit and take in the peaceful surroundings. The combination of the lively activity areas and the tranquil lake makes the park a perfect destination for families looking to spend quality time together outdoors.
Victoria park is great full of things to do with the family. Ice cream cafe shop x 2 Lake Tennis courts Play park Water play park Nature trail walk Two pubs just of Birchfield Road with garden entertainment Water fountains Butterfly house seasonal opening times Band stand Bike hut for community repairs Bowling greens Fair grounds visit in summer If I'm have missed anything iam sorry but wow what a place full of excitement for all the family !
Nice big park with plenty to see and do, loads of paths so your not walking all over the grass on them wet days. There is a cafe there with is cheaper then main stream coffee shops but the food there is a little on the expensive side, for example a sandwich costing over 5 pounds and cakes over 3 pounds each is a bit much. The coffee on the other hand was great and better then costa taste wise. The staff where nice but didn't really smile or chat unless they where the ones dealing with you. Over all worth a visit if you live local or have little ones, and on hot days they have a little splash part to the park that is free to use. No changing facilities though so make sure to pack a towel.
A brilliant local park with fantastic facilities and amenities. Perfect for families or couples wanting to take a stroll.
Brilliant park with great facilities. Includes splash pad, water fountain, gardens, skate park, tennis court, rock climbing, gym equipment, play park and cafe. Only down downfall is lack of parking it can be very hard to find a space on a dry day. Early Saturday morning is a park run, it can be hard to access the cafe and navigate around the park.
My son loved the park and all the different parts to it. Especially the sprinkler water bit, my son wasn't bothered, but maybe take a change of clothes if your child doesn't like being too wet. The lack of parking is a shame as you have to park on the roadside, avoiding driveways but still outside peoples houses. Also the lack of toilets is disappointing as I always feel rude using the cafe toilets if we are not buying something, and we may use the toilets a few times while we are there but only stop for lunch and a drink once, so feel we look rude. The butterfly House was a nice little experience. It is only small but nice for a quick pop in, and the staff are lovely (thanks you ladies), so it's worth a little 5 mins if you are going and it's open. We didn't get the chance to go on the skate park, but it did look good and worth a whirl. Despite the lack of parking and loos, it wasn't enough to put us off, as we are heading back this week as it really is a great park and chance for the kids to have a laugh
