This is a review for the whole of Wentworth castle the one not in wentworth but in Barnsley. What a great addition to the national trust, my wife and i loved it and spent most of the day there on a fresh but sunny october weekend, from the countless stunning views to climbing up the castle, looking up at the trees, amazing landscapes and garden gardens, a must visit.

Restoration works were completed in 2013 on this Grade 2 listed Victorian building. The meticulous restoration works won a top award in 2014 in the Best Sustainable Project category. It is rather resplendent with some photogenic, exotic specimens in. Lots of intetesting history about the estate and interactive activities for the little folk. Has toilets too. Interestingly, this conservatory was one of the first places in the country to have electric lighting - even before Buckingham Palace. Well worth seeing.
A great restoration job is ongoing here. It was some years since I last saw a sad, decaying framework and it looked like it's days may have been numbered. Now it's a different story and the interior is a great space and well worth a visit.
A beautiful building, thankfully saved for the nation. However, the glass roof now has a growth of moss, the plants are not all identified with labels, the floor is very slippery and the pathways are partially obstructed.
