This museum showcases a unique collection of vintage carriages, offering a fascinating glimpse into the history of rail travel in the UK. The exhibits include restored carriages dating back to the 19th century, each one meticulously preserved to retain its original charm. Visitors can explore the intricately designed interiors, learn about the evolution of rail travel, and discover the stories behind these historic vehicles.
Great museum. One of two at Ingrow Station and PS6 to get a joint ticket to get into both museums. This one is the bigger museum with vintage carriages inside. There's a walkway in the middle of the carriages that you can go on. There's carriages you can get into, audio about the carriages, information about which films/ programs the carriages have been in, etc. On the walls and in glass cabinets are many artefacts. Outside and inside, there are also old Station signs about. Well worth a visit.
From start to finish a great experience. Staff very friendly, great value admission. Lots of information without being too much. Well laid out, and to be able to sit in carriages all on one level superb. Really disabled friendly and lots of flat surfaces. Definitely go and visit.
Interesting enough. As the name suggests, it's mainly railway coaches - some famous having appeared in various films and telly series. Whereas some proper vintage (early 20th century). Other smaller exhibits and information boards to look at as well. On site gift shop with: books, DVDs, and other merchandise.
17/08/24 We all (4 people) went on the Keighley Worth Valley Railway. 1st stop Ingrow station. The old carriage works at the bottom section of Ingrow station. Absolutely fascinating interesting place. It caters well for wheel chairs users with a lift up to the gantry fully assisted. The coaches etc, plus the shop and genuine souvenirs are excellent. Do not miss this little gem. There is also the Bahamas museum, learning coach & interesting stock in the large yard area with a working steam crane used by KWVR on the line.
We didn't have the ability to spend too much time here. But it was still great! Would recommend if you are in the area.
Very interesting and lovely experience. Liked as well, which carage they used in different films and TV series.
