This 67-meter-tall Victorian Gothic monument commemorates Sir William Wallace, the 13th-century Scottish hero who fought for independence from England. Designed by J.T. Rochead, it was built between 1859 and 1869 and features a sandstone tower with a striking clock tower, ornate sculptures, and stunning views of the surrounding countryside from its top platform.
Nice looking wallace memorial. There's s small space before it that you can park.
Very tight stair case to get up and down but worth it for the view from the top.
Never knew this was on my doorstep. There is a small parking area next to it and its within walking distance to the walace well. You can visit both sites in one day. The monument is in great condition.
Sadly I couldn't get up to it in my wheelchair but could see the monument from the road. It's free to visit and no ticket buying is necessary.
Lovely monument, rather spoiled by the housing development that it's in though.
Beautiful view, the stairs take a little exertion but I honestly thought hiking up them was fun!
Wheelchair-accessible car park
Wheelchair-accessible entrance
