This museum showcases the history of Wallingford, a market town in Oxfordshire, England. Exhibits include artifacts and displays on the town's Roman past, its medieval importance, and its role in the English Civil War. The museum also features a collection of Victorian and 20th-century artifacts, as well as exhibits on the town's more recent history, including its role in World War II.
Highly recommend visiting this museum which homes many exhibitions including a dedicated area to Agatha Christie the renowned English writer. If you especially want to know about the town's past and its crucial place in British history this is the place to go. Has a shop and also a statue of Agatha Christie outside (on the other side of the road)newly installed to take photos with.
Delightful small museum. Full of a whole variety of information and displays - almost too much to take in on one visit. My visit was to see the Agatha Christie display, which was interesting. (A pity some very noisy children were also visiting, and I did not appreciate their unchecked shouting.)
Very detailed and informative displays on the history and prehistory of Wallingford. And Agatha Christie! Run entirely by volunteers. And your ticket gets you admission for a whole year.
Amazing little museum ... Very well laid out ... Lovely history of the castle, great display on Agatha Christie, and some very interesting displays on the history of the town. Highly recommend a visit.
Lovely little museum, too small for wheelchairs or pushchairs. Upstairs is very detailed and especially exciting for children, Interactive. Downstairs about the history of the museum and a Agatha Christie display at present. Will take you about an hour to see everything, but very concise history. Costs PS5 entry, which you can use as many times as you want in a year. The shop is basic, but some good second hand books available
Enjoyed the Agatha Christie exhibition. Thought the gift shop could do with more Christie themed souvenirs!
