This 120-acre park features a large lake, walking trails, and plenty of green space for picnics and relaxation. Visitors can rent boats and enjoy water activities, or take a leisurely stroll around the lake and enjoy the surrounding wildlife. The park also has a children's play area, a cafe, and a visitor center with information on the park's history and wildlife.
One of my favourite walks to do with 2 young kids, the cafe at the end is a nice thing to work towards. It's a shame the park is almost always waterlogged and near impossible to walk in-definitely needs more drainage!
It's a beautiful stretch on the Wansbeck right near the mouth of the river Totally worth a visit any time of year
We parked in the main car park and walked eastwards in the sunshine and thoroughly enjoyed it before returning to one of the picnic tables off the car park. There is a cafe but we didn't try it on this occasion.
Parking was excellent and the sight seemed clean and well looked after. Great there's a park there for kids. We went to use our paddleboards and found the water to be quite dirty and had some kids throwing rocks at us.
Northumberland has loads of walk trails, beauty spots and gem locations hidden,
Beautiful for all the family and water lovers alike. My go to for stress relief now since being introduced to its river. The park has been there since I was a little girl and it is still well maintained and clean. Cafe is fabulous
