This 14-acre park in Coventry, West Midlands, is a tranquil oasis in the heart of the city. The park's centerpiece is the stunning War Memorial, a monument dedicated to the citizens of Coventry who lost their lives during World War II. The memorial's striking design features a large stone wall with a bronze plaque, surrounded by beautifully manicured gardens and a large pond. Visitors can stroll along the winding paths, take in the serene atmosphere, and pay their respects to the fallen heroes. The park also hosts various events and festivals throughout the year, including the popular Coventry Godiva Festival.
Lovely, well-kept, small park adjacent to the River Test. Has tennis courts, a bowling club & children's play area. Beautiful flower beds & plenty of benches to sit upon. Very peaceful & relaxing.
Great facilities, toilets, cafe, free tennis, fitness equipment, sometimes live music at bandstand. Ducks to feed (food available from cafe). Great for novice scooters/rollerskaters and cyclists. Well tended flower beds. Beautifully positioned with River test running through it. Good playground facilities. Parking limitations on adjacent roads.
Quite a nice place to spend some time. The park has water on two sides, so there are lots of ducks. There's a playground for the kids, tennis courts, a bowling green, flower beds, a small cafe, a bandstand and public toilets too. The Town's war memorial can be found here, along with a vintage Japanese field gun, presented to the Town by Lord Mountbatten of Burma no less. There is a covered seating area outside the cafe, which is very welcome on grey/wet days.
My daughter loves going to the park, there's enough to keep her amused for 30 minutes or so. The cafe is good value and decent food. It's also a lovely walk from my house to the park along the river. Definitely recommend.
Lovely traditional public park created over s century ago after the Great War complete with flower borders, bandstand, tennis courts, bowling green, children's play area and cafe.
Fantastic clean park, was taken here ahas a small boy and have been taking my own children over the years. Small tea shop that sells drink, food and ice cream.
